HAN installs Clock Tower at Maitighar Mandala

In response to the request from Kathmandu Metropolitan to help beautify the city in preparation of 18th SAARC Summit, Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) has installed four- faced clock tower at Maitighar Mandala in downtown Kathmandu. The state of art clock specially designed for HAN is regulated by satellite controlled GPS and is of high accuracy. Built at the cost of one million rupees, the HAN Clock Tower is installed as welcome gesture to the SAARC Summit delegates and is dedicated to the citizens of Nepal and visiting tourists.

HAN Organized Nepal Evening in Bangkok

Hotel Association Nepal hosted a cocktail reception to celebrate Nepal Evening during its program “Nepal-Thai Joint Tourism Promotion Initiatives” on September 22, 2014 at Novotel Ploenchit, Bangkok. H.E. Thai Ambassador to Nepal Kanthong Unakul, Charge ‘D’ Affairs of Nepal Embassy Thailand Dornath Aryal, Vice President of Tourism Council of Thailand Somsong Sachaphimukh, President of Thai-Nepal Chamber of Commerce Krishna Sivakriskul, NRN Thailand President Khagendra Raj Dhakal, more than 60 leading tour operator of Thailand, journalist, HAN Office Bearers, Executive Members and Members attended the reception. During the cocktail reception, delegation members had opportunity to explore business opportunity with Thai tour operators. Various lucky draw coupons from member hotels were distributed amongst journalist and tour operator of Thailand during the program.

The program provided the forum for B2B meetings and the occasion offered Thai guests to know more about Nepal. HAN promotional booklet on Lumbini and Buddhism titled "Nepal-The land of Buddha and Blessings" was extensively distributed at the program.

Study Tour to Deluxe Five Star Hotel & Mahidol University in Thailand

Royal Thai Embassy Kathmandu took special initiative to organize a study tour on September 21, 2014 for visiting HAN delegates to Thailand in a prestigious five star hotel of Thailand Dusit Thani Bangkok and Mahidol University International College of Tourism & Hospitality Management. The study tour was organized with the objectives to educate Nepalese delegates about different standard of Thai hotel industry as well as hospitality and tourism education system of Thailand. During the study tour, delegates from HAN member hotels of different category had an opportunity to interact and learn modern trend and techniques of hotel industry and education system with concerned officials of the hotels and faculty members of the university. The study tour was accompanied by Ambassador of Thailand to Nepal H.E. Kanthong Unakul and attended by thirty five delegates and was coordinated by Second Vice President Shreejana Rana.

Thai Culinary Skills

July 2014

Hotel Association Nepal in collaboration with the Royal Thai Embassy and Nepal-Thai Friendship Co-Operation Society jointly organized one day Thai Culinary Skills at Hotel Annapurna on June 19, 2014. Participants from 15 HAN member hotels have attended the exclusive Thai cookery which was taught by chefs from Thailand. President B.K. Shrestha and Thai Ambassador to Nepal Kanthong Unakul jointly presented certificates to chefs from the participating hotels.
